Description: Trimeresurus stejnegeri is a venomous pitviper species found in India Nepal, Burma, Thailand, China and Taiwan. The males have hemipenes that are short and spinose beyond the bifurcation.

Pharmacological Action: The inhibitory mechanism of 5' - nucleotisase purified from Trimeresurus ste jnegeri snake venom on platelet aggregation. The venom' s 5' -nucleotidase can inhibit platelet aggregation induced by ADP , arachidonic acid ( AA ) , Trimeresurus mucrosquamatus venom aggregator ( TMVA ) and thrombin , and can distinctly disaggregate the platelet aggregation induced by ADP.
