Agkistrodom halys

Description: Agkistrodon halys is a venomous snake belong to ankistrodon.

Pharmacological Action: The components of its venom is more complex, but contained neurotoxin of Agkistrodon halys is a major component of the neurotoxicity. It has phospholipase (PLA ) activity that is a synapse nerve toxins using to hamper the transitive of neuromuscular junction. It can lead to inactivation of transmitter release mechanism, thus giving rise to animal poisoning. It is found that the serum of Agkistrodon halys can neutralise the neurotoxic venom of itself. This is indicate that there is nerve antidotes factor the serum of Agkistrodon halys.
