Benzylphosphonic acid is a protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) inhibitor. The compound has been used to synthesize redox-active molecules and has been shown to rapidly inhibit endothelium-derived COX-1 (cyclooxygenase-1) and COX-2 activity. Other PTP inhibitors include phenylarsine oxide (sc-3521), and sodium orthovanadate (sc-3540).It is white crystalline solid.The purity is more than 98%,soluble in DMSO,ethan and water
