Bunamidine is an anthelmintic drug, an agent destructive to parasitic worms. Anthelmintics are used therapeutically in the treatment of helminthiasis in man and animal.Bunamidine hydrochloride is a veterinary anti-platyhelmintic agent. The drug is intended for oral administration to dogs for the treatment of the tapeworms Dipylidium caninum, Taenia pisiformis, and Echinococcus granulosus, and to cats for the treatment of the tapeworms Dipylidium caninum and Taenia taeniaeformis. The drug is given on an empty stomach and food is not be given for 3 hours following treatment.
