It is yellow powder with purity more than 95% (HPLC). Hoechst 33258 is a blue dye to penetrate the cell membrane, the cell toxicity is low. Hoechst 33258 staining commonly used in the detection of apoptosis, stained with a fluorescent microscope or flow cytometry. Also commonly used in general nuclear staining, or normal DNA staining.
